Less than a mile from the house, the Centennial Trail is a flat, paved path built on a historic rail line that runs 30 miles from the city of Snohomish north to the Skagit County line. It's an easy way to get outside without a plan — walk a mile, bike five, or make a real morning of it.

Historic Snohomish
A short 10–15 minute drive gets you to historic downtown Snohomish, known locally as the antique capital of the Pacific Northwest. First Street is lined with well-preserved early-1900s buildings now filled with antique shops, boutiques, and coffee spots, and the town sits right on the Snohomish River for an easy riverfront stroll.

Mount Pilchuck
For guests who want a real hike, Mount Pilchuck is one of the best options within reach of the house. It's a 5.4-mile round trip with about 2,200–2,300 feet of elevation gain, ending at a restored 1918 fire lookout with 360-degree views of Mount Baker, Mount Rainier, and the Olympics on a clear day. It's steep and rocky in sections, so it's better suited to guests with some hiking experience — but the payoff at the top is one of the best in the region.

Mountain Loop Highway
The Mountain Loop Highway is a designated National Forest Scenic Byway that loops 55 miles through the Cascades between Granite Falls and Darrington, following the Stillaguamish and Sauk Rivers. It's an easy half-day or full-day drive from the house, with stops for waterfalls, short hikes, and the Big Four Ice Caves trail along the way. Part of the route is unpaved, so it feels genuinely remote in the middle stretch, even though it starts just down the road.

Everett Waterfront
About 15 minutes from the house, Everett's waterfront centers on the Port of Everett Marina — the largest public marina on the West Coast, with over 2,300 slips and nearly four miles of walkable public trail along the water. There's a solid lineup of waterfront restaurants and breweries, and in summer, a passenger ferry runs out to Jetty Island, a two-mile sandy beach just offshore that's one of the best (and least-known) beaches in the state.

Very comfortable for five adults. House is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and kitchen was well stocked with cooking and dinnerware as well as olive oil, butter, and spices for cooking. We used the place to gather with a few of our adult children who live in Seattle and Bellingham. Location was a good mid-way point to meet up. Would definitely book again.

What a lovely place to stay for the weekend. The house was very family friendly; our boys loved the yard and the bunk beds. The bedrooms were cozy and the decorations were wonderful. The host went above and beyond. Our son lost a very small toy duck (like, the size of a coffee bean), and the host was kind enough to find it and mail it back to us. Would definitely stay again!

The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully put together. It felt both stylish and comfortable, making it the perfect place for our getaway. What a cute and comfy spot! Great location for what we were looking for. Laura was very responsive and everything was very clean and accessible. Would def stay here again!
